Open source routing, engineered deployment

Gateway is not just a box with ports.

We build Gateway around OPNsense because it is a mature open-source firewall and routing platform with the primitives small networks actually need: stateful firewalling, NAT, DHCP, VLANs, multi-WAN, traffic shaping, VPN, DNS filtering, IDS/IPS, high availability, reporting, user access controls, and API-driven automation.

Secure segmentation

Isolation limits the blast radius.

Flat networks are easy to run until a compromised laptop can see servers, cameras, printers, management interfaces, and guest devices. Gateway designs separate zones for WAN, LAN, servers, guests, management, and operational systems, then defines which traffic may cross each boundary.

Traffic control

Policy should explain what is allowed.

Firewall rules, NAT, DNS filtering, traffic shaping, and QoS are configured around business intent. The result is readable policy, controlled access, better service reliability, and fewer undocumented exceptions.

Visibility

You cannot protect traffic you cannot see.

Gateway deployments are prepared to feed network-edge context into Overseer so router health, network activity, firewall state, and endpoint signals can be reviewed in the same operational picture.

Safe remote access

WireGuard makes VPN access quiet, fast, and explicit.

Remote access should not mean exposing administration panels or leaving shared tunnels undocumented. Gateway uses WireGuard for direct, modern VPN paths that are easy to provision, easy to remove, and scoped to the networks each person or device actually needs.

For owners and operators, that means safer maintenance, cleaner emergency access, and fewer reasons to open risky public services just to reach a system after hours.

Access points and portals

Guest access should still be accountable.

For wireless and public-access environments, Elisk also builds Raspberry Pi-based captive portal appliances with secure authorization lists and traffic logging.

The goal is simple: staff, guests, clients, and operational devices should not share the same trust zone, and remote access should be deliberate rather than improvised.
